Minister Calleary Announces Over €2 million Contract for Ferry Service to Inishbofin

Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary, has announced a new contract for a passenger and light cargo ferry service for Inishbofin island off the Galway Coast.

The 5-year contract will come into effect from the 1st of April, with a total of a €2.75 million awraded

The service will provide a minimum of 2 daily return journeys all year round, with extra trips during the summer months for peak tourism.

Announcing the contract, Minister Calleary said that the service will be of great benefit to the community of Inishbofin and will be a reliable service to the mainland
