Ireland’s largest comedy festival, Galway Comedy Festival, is returning this October with an impressive lineup up of Irish comedy talent and international stars.
The festival runs from Tuesday 24 to Monday 30 October and sees 70 acts take to the stage at 17 venues across Galway, with 69 shows taking place over the few days.
The full schedule was recently released, adding big names including UK stars John Bishop and Seann Walsh and Irish comedians Deirdre O’Kane, Kevin McAleer and Ardal O’Hanlon to the list of festival performers. They join the festival bill alongside other well-known faces including Panti Bliss, Emma Doran and Omid Djalili.
As well as stand-up shows, the festival is holding a number of entertaining events sure to have you in stitches.
Faulty Towers: The Dining Experience takes place in the Galmont Hotel, which promises to be a three-course meal served with a side of chaos in tribute to the beloved sitcom.
Hector Ó hEochagáin will host Gáire as Gaeilge and WOMP Events are bringing back their ‘Nonsense Night’ after a sold-out show last year.
Speaking on the lineup, Festival Director Kevin Healy says: “Once again we have scoured the globe to bring you more than 70 top class performers.
“Each and every one of these artists have been hand-picked for your delight. That’s why we call it carefully curated craic. We suggest you take a chance and go to see someone you haven’t heard of yet.”
