Galway City Council has approved plans put forward for a gym to be put in place in vacant retail units on the Tuam Road.

Planning permission got by to transform units 10 and 11 into a gym at Tuam Road Retail Centre.

The application will apply to the first floor with the ground floor being used by ‘Finline Furniture’.

It was said that the first floor would turn into gym areas, along with toilets and other facilities.

The spacing previously belonged to the Galway and Roscommon Education and Training Board (GRTEB), who got permission to use it for educational purposes back in 2007.

The units that are to be put in use, which make up the more significant part of the building at the Tuam Road Retail Centre, will go with the 90 parking spaces outside the building.

The Galway City Council granted the planning permission for this new gym.
