Carnmore Airport is to be used as a facility to test for the coronavirus, according to a local councillor.

In a tweet Councillor Ollie Crowe said that the new test centre will hopefully be implementing by Tuesday. He also said that the test centre should help reduce waiting times for testing in Galway.

The number of confirmed cases of coronavirus in Galway has reached 25 cases, making it the third highest case count by county in the Republic of Ireland.

Other new test centres implemented in Galway include the LÉ William Butler Yeats. It is now docked at the port in Galway City.
