Following a staff member reporting for flu-like symptoms, Google Dublin office has told their near 8000 workers to not come to the workplace.
Although it is not yet confirmed that the staff member has coronavirus, Google has taken precautions to prevent a possible spread in case the situation escalates.
“We continue to take precautionary measures to protect the health and safety of our workforce, and as part of that effort we have asked our Dublin teams to work from home tomorrow,” a Google spokesperson said.

On Monday, Minister Simon Harris said the Government may approve income support for workers who have to self-isolate due to the risk of spreading coronavirus.
A spokesperson also said that remote working would be a good measure for a possible long term isolation if the situation gets to that point.
