Galway Singer/Songwriter Aisling Fuller Releases Her First Amhrán as Gaeilge

Galway singer-songwriter Aisling Fuller has released her first ever song as Gaeilge. Her first track written in Irish, Inis Dom — which translates to Tell Me — dropped on October 24, 2025.

Reflecting on her journey into songwriting in Irish, Aisling explained,  “I started writing music as Gaeilge last year in 2024 and the second song I wrote was ‘Inis Dom’ which is about having a bit of fun but as Gaeilge”

Aisling has grown up being immersed in her native tongue having always spoke Irish with her grandad. “Irish has always been a part of my life I always communicated with my grandad through Irish it’s the only way I spoke to him, I also did all of my education through Irish until third level so I have good exposure to the Gaeilge”, said the 23 year old singer/songwriter.

The Renmore native is proud to be a Gaeilgeoir and believes “if you can speak [the language], why not?”. Aisling is delighted to witness a revival of Irish among the younger generation and she loves seeing young people choosing to speak it.

“My sister is in the university here [in Galway] so I get to see a bit more of the Irish community through her but I think it’s great because young people are speaking Irish because they want to and because they’re proud to be Gaeilgeoirs and I think it’s something to be proud of and I am so happy that the Irish revival is coming back around in this generation”, Aisling added.

Aisling made an appearance on Galway Bay FM ahead of releasing ‘Inis Dom’. Aisling spoke to John Morley as Gaeilge and had the opportunity to sing her newest track live on the radio.

Reflecting on this experience Aisling said, “It was so lovely to be able to do an interview through Gaeilge and I spoke to John as Gaeilge and I also sang my song through Gaeilge and I actually heard from somebody who said they heard me on the radio saying ‘it was so lovely to hear some Gaeilge on the radio’ and it makes me very happy to hear that as well”.

The response following the release of ‘Inis Dom’ has been very positive according to Aisling: “ a lot of people who know me wouldn’t have expected me to come out with a song in Irish but having recently moved back to the country it seemed like the right move to embrace the Irish language and heritage again”.

She continued by saying, “lots of people around Galway are familiarising themselves with ‘Inis Dom’ I hope it catches on and that people will give it a listen”.

A personal highlight for Aisling was hearing her music being played on RTÉ 2FM. “I was so honoured to be put on one of their shows, they played my last single and I am so happy to be getting a bit of an Irish audience and exposure here in Ireland”, she said.

Looking ahead, Aisling’s calendar for 2026 is filling up fast, with new music and collaborations from Aisling expected next year. “In 2026 I have some projects to look forward to most notably I’m going to be putting out a song with another busker Valter Romulo and we’re going to do another song together it’s going to be a nice acoustic vibe which will be a change from the upbeat-ness of ‘Inis Dom’”, Aisling added.
