Man Killed in Late-Night Crash in Ballyhaunis, Gardaí Appeal for Witnesses

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with Dashcam footage to make it available to them

Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo – April 1, 2025

A man in his 50s has died following a single-vehicle crash on the R323 Knock Road in Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo, late Monday night.

The collision occurred at approximately 10:10 pm on March 31st. Gardaí and emergency services arrived at the scene, but the driver—who was the sole occupant of the car—was pronounced dead. His body has been transported to Mayo University Hospital in Castlebar for a post-mortem examination.

The road remains closed as Garda forensic investigators conduct a technical examination, with local diversions in place.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash-cam footage from the area between 9:30 pm and 10:30 pm to come forward.
