Nominations Open for Galway’s Cathaoirleach’s Awards 2025

Galway County Council and the Public Participation Network (PPN) are seeking nominations for the Cathaoirleach’s Awards 2025, which celebrate individuals and groups making a significant impact in communities across County Galway.

The annual awards, running for over a decade, recognise achievements in areas such as sport, heritage, environment, arts, culture, and social inclusion. Winners will be honoured at a special reception in May, ahead of the Mayoral Charity Ball at Raheen Woods Hotel, Athenry, on June 7th.

Cathaoirleach Cllr Martina Kinane described the awards as a “fantastic opportunity” to highlight community efforts, while Liam Conneally, Chief Executive of Galway County Council, praised the scheme for showcasing best practices in voluntary initiatives.
