Two arrested after East Galway heroin seizure

Heroin worth approximately €36,000 was seized near Cappataggle, Co. Galway on November 13. The Gardaí stopped the car with a man and woman both in their 50s at around 11 pm.
More than 252 grams of heroin was seized. The man and woman are currently being detained at a Garda station in Co Galway and can be held for up to seven days.
These seizures form part of Operation Tara, an enhanced national anti-drugs strategy launched by Garda Commissioner Drew Harris on July 2, 2021. Operation Tara’s focus is to disrupt, dismantle, and prosecute drug trafficking networks at all levels.
