The event will take place on the President’s Lawn, which is located outside the Quadrangle. Men and women are invited to play in the tournament, in what is promised to be a great day.

The Women’s team captain, Charlotte Miller is hoping the club can benefit from this fundraiser and explains why it is so special to be part of this club.

“The aim of this tag tournament is to advertise the club, while raising money for the club, and allowing freshers to experience what it is like to be a part of our club. Most importantly to have fun and meet new people.”

University of Galway Rugby Club, is a college based club. They have four different teams, two senior men’s teams, playing in J1A and J2A. While their U20s team play in the JP Fannagan Leinster League.

The Women’s team play in the Tier 2 college league and in the Connacht league and cup tournaments.

The club is based in the Dangan Pavillion, located just off campus and has existed since 1874. The club is mainly student-run with the aid of the extended committee.

For Miller the club holds a special place in her life, “For me it’s the friends I’ve made since I’ve started playing for the college, the connection between all the teams in the club is something so special that I have never experienced in any other club. The girls are just amazing, both as friends and as team mates.”

Teams will be made up of ten people and it will cost five euro per person to participate, after the tournament there will be a get together in Sult (University of Galway college bar).
