Torrential rain in the past 24 hours has led to the postponement of this afternoon’s clash of Oughterard and Monivea-Abbey in Pearse Stadium.
This follows yesterday’s cancellation of An Spidéal and St. James’. Both relegation play-off games will be replayed at a later and as yet unspecified date.
Monivea-Abbey were consigned to the four-team pool after defeat to Caherlistrane last weekend. Oughterard are aiming to avoid demotion to the Intermediate rank that they won at All-Ireland level in 2020.
It is a further headache on the fixture front for the Galway County Board, with this weekend centred on the Senior Hurling Championship quarter finals.
The SFC semi-finals next weekend now come under scrutiny, with a double-header pencilled in for next Sunday.
