New Covid-19 test centre in Tuam

A new walk-in Covid-19 test centre will open in Tuam on Monday.
The free walk-in test centre is located at the Irish Wheelchair Associations, The Glebe, Dublin Road in Tuam.
The test centre will operate from 11 am until 7 pm from Monday the 26 March. If you live within 30 km of the centre and have no Covid-19 symptoms, you can avail of a free test.
Individuals must be aged 16 years or older and have not tested positive for Covid-19 in the last six months. Photo ID and an active mobile number are also required.
A GP referral is not required for the walk-in test, and results will be sent directly to your mobile phone.
The HSE has asked that anyone who has a high temperature, shortness of breath, a cough, or a loss or change in their sense of smell to contact their GP and not attend the walk-in test centre.
Recent figures from the Department of Health showed that Tuam Local Electoral Area has the highest incidence rate of 171.7 per 100,00 as compared to the national average of 131.7.
