Coronavirus: NUIG summer exams shift to online

By Anamika

To avoid large gatherings, NUIG has decided to shift all the exams online to combat coronavirus transmission.

It is scheduled to begin by the end of April and to continue until May. The exams are not applicable for accredited modules, and the results will be expected around July.

Procedures such as post-exam interviews will be utilised to avoid cheating. Additionally, arrangements will be made to provide internet to students who have no access. Further details are expected to reach students by 6th April.

Speaking on Galway Talks, NUIG President, Professor Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh, shared that these efforts were significant to tackle the spread of coronavirus.

The campus which was closed since 17th March has been facilitating classes online following the restrictions raised by the government.
