Repairs are still underway, on a burst main in Spiddal which has caused water outages in many households in the village.

Locals living up Baile an Dónalláin in Spiddal surrounded by the fields of Connemara may have to be prepared for the worst until the problem is fixed according to Irish Water.

The work was supposed to be completed yesterday, however, it has been confirmed that Irish Water is continuing to deal with the problem at the moment.

Households in the area have been notified that it would possibly take 2-3 hours from the time when the work is finally completed before their water supply can be fully restored.

If people want more information on keeping themselves updated on the matter, they can head to to the Irish supply and service page on Twitter.
