Galway District Court hearings affected by coronavirus

By Utku Muratoglu
Galway Courthouse has issued a notice to jury members, stating they are not needed for the next two weeks.
Non-urgent matters to be adjourned to future dates and work will be scaled back to deal with urgent matters only.
District Courts will remain open throughout the country as Ireland effectively grinds to a halt due to the threat of coronavirus.
The government has introduced drastic measures in order to reduce gatherings and unnecessary contact between individuals.
The Circuit Court will continue ongoing trials involving jurys but will not hear any new cases.
Family law and child protection cases will continue as normal.
The measures will be reviewed at the end of this legal term on 12 April.
