Galway City Council announces closure of recreational facilities

Galway City Council has announced the closure of a number of recreational facilities in the city.

The closures are being described as “precautionary measures” aimed at containing the spread of coronavirus.

All schools, childcare facilities, educational facilities remain closed until March 29.

Sports clubs in the city also have postponed their activities.

The following amenities have been closed as of 11 am today:

Knocknacarra Community Centre, Westside Community Centre, Renmore Community Centre, Bohermore Community Centre, Crestwood Dressing Rooms, Westside Dressing Rooms, South Park Dressing Rooms, Westside Boxing Gym, The Plots storage area, and Baillinfoile Community Centre.
