Travel restrictions for Galway have been issued ahead of an historic visit by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on Thursday.

William and Catherine are scheduled to visit Galway this Thursday. While no precise details of places they will visit in the city centre have been officially announced, traffic restrictions have been put in place by An Garda Síochána.

No premises have been closed and the city centre remains open for business. Signage has been positioned strategically around Galway informing motorists of any restrictions and drivers are asked to take note on the messages displayed.  An Garda Síochána have said they will “make every effort to minimise any disruption caused”.
