Galway Hotel under 24/7 Watch by Protesters Over Plans for Asylum Seekers

Angry crowds gathered last night outside the popular Carna Bay Hotel to protest against its housing plan for asylum seekers. The group plan to maintain a 24/7 presence outside the building as they wait for the bus with applicants to arrive.
This protest comes following the hotel’s plans to house 84 asylum seekers.
The group of locals established a 24 hours rota system to watch the entrance of the hotel as well as the three main routes into Carna.
The Carna Bay Hotel has been housing Ukrainian refugees since 2022, to the dismay of some locals. The group of protesters vowed to pursue the watch for as long as it takes.
