University of Galway set to host annual undergraduate open days this weekend

By Oisín Brennan

The University of Galway will welcome many up and coming potential undergraduate students to their Galway campus this Friday 6 October and Saturday 7 October.

This will be as part of the annual undergraduate open days held at the university, which help to provide potential new students with an insight into student life on the Galway campus.

Each year, students travel from near and afar to find out more about college courses that the university has to offer and the campus itself.

Students also gather key information regarding particular societies and social clubs of their interest that are present within the college

Activities on the day:

The open days will be rather action packed and there will be a significant number of activities taking place over the course of the two days.

Taking place in the orange zone of the campus, there will be a number of student life talks including sports meetings, an international student talk, a study abroad meeting and a careers and placement advice seminar.

In the pink zone, a series of Bachelor of Arts degree talks will be held featuring advice on pathways to secondary school teaching and much more besides.

The red zone will be composed of a number of exhibition stands providing information about nursing, midwifery and medicine courses.

There will also be exhibition stands on the day from the School of Business and Law, Engineering, Science and the School of Hotel Management.

With a wide variety of exhibitions and stands, there is certainly something in store for all visitors on the day.

With a large selection of events to attend, it is hoped that many potential university students will be inspired to choose the University of Galway as their number one University option for 2024.
