Unemployment at lowest in Ireland since the recession

The numbers released by the Central Statistics Office show that these are the lowest unemployment rates in Ireland since 2007.

The number of unemployed was 120,200 in January 2020 and it was 116,900 in the year before. 

When compared, 4,000 more people found jobs in the last year alone.

According to the numbers released by the Central Statistics Office, the number of unemployed males in January 2020 was 67,200 in comparison with 70,600 last year.

On the other hand, in January 2020 the number of unemployed females was 53,000 in comparison with 53,700 last year.

Although the numbers are constantly decreasing, the experts say that the effects of the Brexit and the recent election are yet to be felt.
